What's Poppin?

Skinny Rita

Looking for a Skinnygirl Margarita? Yes, it's bottled product, but you should try making one yourself. They are very simple and easy to make. I should know; I spent a lot of time this month, "sitting at my home bar" practicing! I have to give credit here to Bethenny Frankel, the creator of the Skinnygirl Margarita, for bottling a drink that is actually fresh, natural and contains no preservatives or high fructose corn syrup. However, with the success of her product it won’t be long before others follow suit; and, as is with anything that becomes popular in the beverage world, the knock-offs will be mass produced, with less quality control and probably less than real ingredients. I am not trying to be negative here…just realistic. So, before the craze begins, try making your own with simple and fresh ingredients. I put together a recipe that is very close to the skinnygirl, and I created another, the Skinny Bubbly Rita, which I have been really enjoying myself! Cheers and have fun mixing it up!
