SIT at the BAR v.2

A Drink at MIZUMIZU

So, I was in the mood for Asian or Fusion or something of the like...Mizu was the perfect candidate...they've been open at their new location for about 5 months and have been getting really good reviews. So, I sat at the "bar bar" at first and asked for a drink menu...turns out they were between designing menus and didn't have one officially. I asked the bartender for something refreshing and light...maybe cucumber. He suggested a Ginger Infused Patron Martini. Holy Wow! What a drink. Pureed fresh ginger infused with Patron silver. And a jalapeño, lime juice. Mix it all together and serve up. The drink is spicy, sweet and smoky. Absolutely fantastic.

After that is was off to the Sushi bar...we sat with Andy and the Executive chef Tatsuki...they created some really great dishes. My favorite was not too creative but was so fresh and amazing. Uni (sea urchin) with quail egg. Then-as I always have to do when it's available-I ordered the Two Time Aji...Mackerel sashimi served along with its deep fried bones...and you must eat it all. The Ginger Patron Martini paired so amazingly with everything...I can't wait to go back and have another.

Mizu is a little pricey but totally worth it because you can tell that everything there is incredibly fresh and that you are paying for high quality ingredients. I will most certainly go back during their really great happy hours, which feature different specials mon-fri.
