If you are into classic cocktails, then knowing how to make a good Sazerac is a must. The official cocktail of New Orleans, this is an old classic and must be made with Peychaud’s bitters.
- 2oz rye whiskey
- .5oz simple syrup
- 4 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
- Herbsaint or absinthe for rinse
Combine first three ingredients in mixing glass with ice. Stir to chill. Rinse an old fashioned glass with Herbsaint and discard. Strain rye mixture into glass. Flame a lemon peel over glass and discard.
