Joe's Summer Sangria
Recipe Courtesy of Joe Edward's, Twin Liquors Associate in San Antonio!
Your choice of any of the following wine:
- Moscato (sweet white)
- Riesling (semi-sweet white)
- Chardonnay (dry white)
- Pinot Noir (medium red)
Fruit (choose any or all):
- Oranges
- Limes
- Lemons
- Strawberries
- Pineapples
- Apples (golden delicious is best)
Sprite, Club Soda or Ginger Ale (your choice)
In a large punch bowl or pitcher; slice up any combination of selected fruit.
Select your type of wine for your Sangria. Pour over the sliced fruit until it completely covers the fruit. Depending on the size of bowl or pitcher, this could be 1-3 bottles of wine.Let this set completely overnight prior to the event of which it will be served. The alcohol will be absorbed into the fruit.
This is important! Just before you are about to serve the Sangria, pour equal amounts of the bubbly to the amount of wine you used. If you pour too early, the Sangria will taste flat!!!
Take several pieces of fruit and set inside each glass (they taste delicious) and pour the Sangria into the glasses.
Enjoy!
Ps… Make sure you make enough. It will be consumed by the gallon!
