Irish Whisky Cocktail

(adapted from Puck Fair, in New York)

• 1 ounce Irish whisky
• 1/2 ounce cherry liqueur
• 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice
• 1 whole egg*
• Nutmeg to garnish (optional)

Combine ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake very vigorously, for at least 10 seconds, to emulsify the egg. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Zest just a tiny bit of nutmeg as garnish.

*Raw eggs can contain harmful bacteria. Use fresh, pasteurized, eggs in shell.
